for such an ancient game, I dont find many these days that can compare. With a great, and very fitting metal sound track, innovative use of terrain in missions(radar reflective minerals that make the minimap look like hostiles are everywhere, hiding from detection powered down in a cave, having to create alternate routes, when the default one is almost impossible, etc), nearly full customization of mechs! We have the option to gut the mech we have, and re build it with the weapons/armor/tech/jumpjets/heatsynchs, in the quantity and placement desired(advice: keep ammo away from both engine and cockpit), damage mapping that actually works! meaning early on in the game, good piloting skills can allow 'leg shots', damaging to reduce speed, and eventually knock them over. It is somewhat unique, with more choice and control available, than most other games. I'm surprised more people dont know about this particular release.
